Computer help needed

Posted by: Rasher on 21 February 2006

Guys
I like to listen to radio on the PC and there is a particular rock show that streams live from its station on the web. Trouble is, it's in the USA, so the programme I want to listen to is on through the night when I'm asleep. It comes through Windows Media Player. Is there a function that enables me to record it? In the old days of steam, I could stick a cassette into the radio and tape a radio programme, so surely PC cleverness must be light years ahead of this, but I just can't find a way to do it.
Anyone know how?

I think you need some S/W. (Streaming capture) Try CNet to see if there is a freebie.

A program called HiDownload lets you capture audio and video streams.

In many cases it's very easy but sometimes you need to view the IP trafic and then point it in the right place. I believe there is a 30 day trial if you want to give it a go.

I think that some of the Pink Fishes were discussing this problem a couple of weeks ago. Might be worth a look.
