This disc is frickin' awesome! Does anyone know what Hal Willner's other "tribute" discs are like? I think there's a Kurt Weill tribute and a Monk tribute, maybe others.

Try 'Stay Awake'. It's a Disney tribute and has career highs from several people. Worth it for Bonnie Raitt doing Baby Mine from Dumbo backed by Was (Not Was)!!!

Incidentally, I have just discovered Tijuana Moods by Mingus. Where should I travel to next?

Best bet is to buy everything by Mingus, you can't really go wrong.

Some personal favourites: Pithecanthropus Erectus, Ah Um, Blues and Roots, Mingus Oh Yeah, Mingus Mingus Mingus Mingus Mingus, Charles Mingus Presents Charles Mingus, Live at Antibes, and, of course The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady, his masterpiece. And his solo piano album, Myself When I Am Real, which is simply beautiful, and often overlooked.
