I can view my profile, but don't seem able to "edit" it. Got an equipment change to make soon

Hmmm. Very odd. What use do say 'view/edit' now only says 'view'. Adam and other mods, what's going on here?

I asked the question in the Music Room and flagged my own post regarding this. No response as yet.

Your question was reasonable. I am easily confused when it comes to computer software stuff. Hopefully, on Monday, Naim staff can enlighten us all.
Obviously, in the overall scheme of things, it is a very minor problem. But, as of this time tomorrow, I will be the proud owner of Spendor S3/5se rosewood speakers .... and keeping the current Linaeums as backups. Tomorrow is gonna be a good day.

I'd be interested in your thoughts on the Spendors when they arrive. I assume they're for a small space? Have you compared them with the non-se version?

I will be sure to post something after I have had them for several weeks.
I did an audio no-no .... I bought them without ever having heard them. They are a "little-used, near-mint condition, rosewood" pair. The timing of their availabilty coincided perfectly with a small financial wind-fall that was not anticipated.
I have read numerous Spendor reviews over the years by people who I have been able to identify as having preferences compatible with mine. I have Art Dudley's review of the S3/5se from July 2003, which I have (re)-read at least once a month for the past 26 months, partly because of the way it presented the product and also how it described something I thought I would very much enjoy and would work in my smallish room with very limited flexibilty when it comes to speaker size and placement.Since my confidence in Art's descriptions was what led me to Naim 2.5 years ago, I feel totally comfortable having made this used-market purchase "blindly". I don't like metal dome tweeters (ie Epos ES14, although there were certainly other things very likable about that speaker, but they were also too big for my domestic environment); the largest speaker my room/placement has accommodated well was the Spica TC-50; the Linaeums are stunningly good at what they do, but I am hoping for a very slightly "fuller" sound without losing any of the Linaeum "purity". The Spica's were "fuller", but nowhere near as "pure" as the Linaeums. I do not have unrealistic expectations in this being a "full-range" solution to my situation (the only thing I can accommodate that might fill that statement would be the Dynaudio Special 25 which are "silly money" by my circumstances).I am looking to maintain the good things I like about the Linaeums, which I will still have, with the upgraded 'se' tweeter and adding to it a slightly fuller sound from the sealed box design.
I will let you know how I make out. Thank you for asking ... I am very excited.

Sometimes you've just gotta do what you've gotta do. Good luck with them, they're extremely unlikely to be a dud buy.

Hi Jeff
Good luck with your speakers. I also did an audio no-no (twice - Audio physic tempo 5 + Nait5i) a month ago. Luckily it turned out pretty good

Congratulations RiNo. My dealer in the '90s carried AP speakers and I was always impressed when I heard them played (and have always liked the looks). Enjoy !!!

Been playing them about three hours now and initial impressions are very favorable .... love the high end, the fullness is about what I expected and wanted .... the real surprise so far has been the dynamic shadings - subtle volume changes in vocals (especially background vocals), the completeness of the note envelopes (attack, sustain, and decay) and the detail (not sheet music pages, buses in the background, etc - but the instutrmental details without highlighting). The high end is so clean and distortion free I am amazed (and I loved the Linaeum high frequency driver) and with none of the etching "I" hear in metal domes. Very very nice.
I am going to have a very fun couple weeks and then I will post more on how I am getting along.

Can we have an update from the mods on this issue (i.e. that you're aware of it - I realise it's exactly going to be a high priority).

If you are still struggling to update your profile follow these steps.
Click on "Go" box (top left)
Click on "My Space"
Click on "Profile"
Click on "View/Edit Complete Profile"
This can be found to the right hand side of the screen beneath the box that says "Welcome/Log in name/Groupee
Needed to update mine after originally joining whilst "tired and emotional" only just managed it during a period of relative sobriety

Thanks nic, but the issue wasn't that we didn't know how to do it, rather that the forum wasn't giving the option to "view/edit complete profile", just "view complete profile", which was pretty unhelpful. This now seems to have been resolved though (I can now edit mine anyway).
