The Shins

Too good to lose in the 'new CD thread' Wincing The Night Away' really is a blast. Thoroughly modern indie pop (perhaps with a vague Smiths feel) it really is one to buy if you want something enjoyably uncomplicated and entertaining. The sign of a good album: every time I play it I make it louder!

If the first album is half as good I'll be getting that ASAP.

I think 'chutes too narrow' is their best but ther first album (who's title I cannot recall) is excellent and every bit as good as 'wincing...'.

This has induced me to try their Myspace stuff. Is the album all this good? If so, I'm in.

BTW Bruce is this what you play when careering round the moors in your Caterham (or does it even have a CD player)? :-)

Keep a lookout for their U.K. record company: Transgressive Records.

Amazing label, who also host the Young Knives.

Keep a lookout for new music from their latest signing: Foals.
