Syncing books from iTunes to iPad. Help!

How embarrassing is this?? I have, ahem, 'some' books in iTunes but I can't see how I sync them onto the iPad. I remember ages ago selecting choices for music and apps for iPod and iPhone, but this has defeated me. Any help appreciated.
