So if I purchase a blu Ray player that has a digital co -ax out can I hook it up to my av2?

Ah, this old chestnut...
Yes, no problem hooking it up...But, you will not benefit from the higher bit-rate HD audio available on most BD as the AV2 cannot decode the formats.....However, what you 'should' gain over standard DVD is still a better output off the disc, as by default the BD player should down-sample from HD and deliver to the AV2 the embedded 'Core'audio - much like standard DD & DTS, but often at the max available bit-rate, something that DVD hardly ever does.....

Of course your other option, should you get a decent enough BD player with analogue outputs and HD decoding onboard, is to hook into the AV2's 7.1 analogue inputs...
