2 - Pentangle box set (1967-73)
3 - Sky Blue Sky by Wilco
4 - Sweet Warrior by Richard Thompson
5 - Cast Iron Soul by Danny and Dusty (NB: absolutely brilliant!)
6 - You Follow Me by Nina Nastasia and Jim White
7 - Just Roll Tape by Stephen Stills (April 26 1968)
8 - The Bairns by Rachel Unthank & the Winterset
9 - Awkward Annie by Kate Rusby

My best five for 2007 (in no particular order) would be:

Wilco: Sky Blue Sky
The Shins, Wincing The Night Away
Prefab Sprout: Steve McQueen Remastered (for the new acoustic versions)
Orchestre Baobab: Made In Dakar
Richard Hawley: Lady's Bridge

My top one in order is

Oh My Darling ~ Basia Bulat.

Bet that surprised a few people Smile

It would be in my top ten records full stop, not just for this year.

Rupert:

How are the sonics on S Stills? Underrated guitar player and still going strong!

Mike - there's a bit of tape distortion on a couple of tracks but overall sounds as 'there' as analogue 1960s tape usually does! Extremely listenable. Contrast with the 'Man Alive' CD which I wasn't so keen on and sounds very computerised to me.

The fascinating thing about that one is how many of the songs which he recorded over the next few years, up to Manassas, he had already written just after (or before?) the demise of the Buffalo Springfield.
