Apparently Peter Green is doing a couple of London dates in December. See Planet Rock W/S for details.

Thanks BigH47. Only one London date, the other in the Midlands. Looks like he's got a new band together. Expect to see more dates announced in the New Year. Last time I saw him he was a shadow of his former self, but well worth seeing. A true legend of British R&B

I was talking about P Green with someone the other day and we thought he had another melt down. Perhaps this is another venture into the real world again.
I hope it's successful, and another tour is the outcome.

I saw him a few years ago with Splinter. I read a review that summed it up nicely, which stated that it was like watching him in a cloud of fog. Every now and again the fog would lift momentarily to reveal the true genius and just as quickly the fog would envelop him again. Still a hero of mine so I won't knock him.

I had the privilege of seeing Peter and his new band, Peter Green and Friends playing the second of 2 sell out gigs at the Robin 2 in Bilston, Wolverhampton last night and can only say what a pleasure it was - much better than the old Splinter Group. There were people in the audience from all ages and from as far away as Cornwall and Scotland and the atmosphere was great.
Sure he is different from the old days but playing with confidence and enjoyment and with a great band. The venue is a true music lovers place - basic room and bar with no seats or other distractions but with a great sound system - much better to hear the blues this way than in a concert hall or mega venue.
There are plenty of updates and reviews of recent concerts by the group on Myspace, Facebook and YouTube together with future gig dates so have a look and maybe get to see him in the future - you won't be disappointed.

2 years ago I found an LP of Fleetwood Mac with just the 4 guys, it's pretty amazing stuff. Before Christine. It must be a new pressing but everything is from 1967. Love the guitar work and imagine being in a smoky bar with the band. That must have been incredible.
