French drains - British Standards?

Hi all,

Can anyone advise if there is a British Standard for french drains and if so where will I find it?

I think the British Standard is BS5489.

"French Drains" is a generic term. A proper french drain is basically a trench infilled with gravel etc, and then turfed over. Their used to channel away moisture, and especially uslefull if your neighbours garden is higher than yours.
