K-Pax

I thought I'd write and recommend this book (the whole trilogy in fact, just released as a compilation). Ignore the film if you've seen it, which was a nice, if flawed, mini-adaptation. The book is moving, tragic, funny and thoughtful. The conceit of the author being one of the the main protagonists, yet the narrative being total fantasy, is an inspired one.
It's not sci-fi by the way, whatever Waterstones thinks.
I met the author, gene brewer, last night and he is a thoroughly wonderful human being. Not an alien at all.
Regards
Stephen
