Nait programmable gain

Posted by: Vaughn3D on 13 June 2003

I hooked up my new Nait last night and the early returns are quite favorable. My question is if there is an optimal level that I should set the programmable gain to. If I increase or decrease the level will it have any affect on sound? I experimented a bit and did not notice a difference but the lower gain seemed to give me more control over volume level. thanks

...if there is an optimal level, but it seems to me that the Nait sound a bit better when it is in the mode for adjusting the gain.

Anyone else notice this?

Vaughn,

it shouldn't make any difference - the variable gain just adjusts how the microprocesser intermediates between the volume dial and the resistor ladder which acts as the volume control.

However you set the gain, the resistor ladder operates in the same way.
