Well guys, here we have it, written on a different forum admittedly, but Nuno has decided against a CD5.

Nuño,
are you sure? December is only five weeks away - assuming you're talking about December 2002.
I think you're a little rash. Have you considered all the impli- and ramifications of the new formats - SACD, multichannel, MP3?
Heaven forfend you buy a CD player without the slightest premeditation, and you're stuck with dinosaur hardware!

Christ on a bike! For a minute there I thought that I had been transported to weeny boy hell. It reminds me of the old joke about how to find your way back out to your car from within a mega shopping mall.*
And who is this Tony aka Tone person (1119 posts since 23 Aug 2002) who claims that he's "not a PRaT fan". What the hell is he doing posting five hundred plus messages a month on a hi-fi forum if he doesn't like music? I would have asked 'Tone' over there but the mere thought of registering (and having my e-mail addy pop up for all and sundry) just seemed pointless. So 'Tone' if you have anything to say for yourself...
I almost feel sorry for Nuno aka celeron333 (Ah Celeron...I get it...now I can understand his inability to make a decision).
Come back Nuno, all is forgiven.

Craig - lets not get into the Celery thing - Or Nuño will be diverting his CD5 fund into the muscular superiority that is Athlon!

I think Nuno is hanging on in the hope that Santa brings him a new CDP for Xmas and takes the whole decision making thing of his shoulders

Frankly I'm suprised this thread hasn't been pulled yet. This is bad publicity.
I mean, if Nuño is not going to opt for the CD5, that clearly is a major blow to Naim Inc and all its efforts to make an excellent product and bring it to the people.
Newbies are going to stop and wonder what they should do if Nuño decides against sistem sinergy and opts for a cheap out. After all to many he is a role model.
Probably they're busy preparing a press conference at Salisbury to put the best possible spin on this news and do some damage control.

The Portugese distributor is probably relying on Nuno's piece of business to assure his future survival.
I think in the interests of fairness we should slap a voluntary D-Notice on this thread until after Santa's visit.

Eureka! Herman has cracked it.
You see, this has to be why Paul has given up his role as forum moderator.
No doubt, as we type these very posts, Mr. Stephenson is devoting much of his time working diligently upon putting damage control sistems in place for the ailing Portuguese market sector.
What with all the Portuguese language classes in the evenings, and community college publicity courses in the mornings, poor Paul just can't devote any more of his valuable time editing out our drivel.
On top of all that, Mr. S. still has to follow through on his promise to replace the entire Naim product line all at once. His afternoons must be terribly busy.
Just remember Paul, there are no mishtakes, just learning experiences.

Nuño,
you're out of step again.
We have just collectively switched to spelling sistem with an i, as a tribute to your remarkable powers of procrastination. And now you're spelling sistem with an y!
I've heard you can get banned for such offenses, so please change back agian. I know you can do that.

Nuno,
I have no idea what problem you are having with your Chord interconnect. In the past I have had a few problems with some of the wires coming away from the solder with the thinner Chord interconnects - this is usually easy to fix. Surely this is not the main problem.

Nuno,
Surely, if you decide to go for a non Naim player with a Naim amp, your dealer (assuming he's a Naim dealer) should be able to supply a suitable cable.
