NAP200 power Thiel CS 2.4

Posted by: KenTo on 08 August 2003

Hi all,

I am a newbie to Naim world, so need some advice on speaker match.

I really like the sound of thiel CS2.4, but I wonder the NAP 200 power enough to drive the thiel CS2.4 ( I mean drive it well) which is 87db, or better drive the CS1.6 90db ??

or should I look for other speakers matching?

any suggestion

Many thx to all

Ken - This is by no means a complete answer, but I auditioned the 200 (which I purchased) with Thiel 2.4s at my dealer. The amp and speakers sounded great to me. Although my time with the 2.4s was limited, I doubt whether my dealer would have demo'ed the 200/202 to a prospective purchaser with the 2.4s if the amp was inadequate to drive them. For what it's worth ....

In Hong Kong Naim and Thiel are are under different agent, and I can't find a dealer that have that combination for audition.

I can only try my naim with my friend's 1.6, its sounds great too!

Your advice is very helpfull, thx so much for your advice MBM!!

Ken, I am located in HK too and just got my 202/200 today. I am using them to drive a pair of Dynaudio 1.8 with sensitivity at 86db and I will say the power is enough. Not sure about 2.4 though.
