Which speaker???

Posted by: jho on 04 November 2002

Hi all, i am quite new to naim, i got myself a set of 112/150 a yr ago after trying a few other brands. I like the naim sound, 6 months later i got a CD5 used. All seems great and i was using a totem 1 speaker. Currently i am testing with my friend's Epos es14. It gives me a all rounded feeling compare to totem( although i thought the totem is better in mid range), as in PRAT. Last week i came across a used epos es22.

Anyone has experience with epos22? shall i get the es14 or es22 or stick with my totem? appreciate your help.

Its all a matter of personal taste!! Go and listen to all the speakers at the end of your system and see which one you prefer.

Just a thought have you tried the Epos M12?

jho !

I have had Epos12 for four years, but it is not speaker which can express you a whole bunch of information which cd5 can give. I have listen Epos14, 15, 22 and 25, but it is just more (bigger) of the same. Totem 1 is in my opinion better speaker, but if you found Epos to be better, take it. There was many threads here about Royd, Neat and similar speakers. I will suggest you to try some of them if you can, but on the other side, why just don't try Intro2, it will be an ideal partner to your electronics.

Good luck,

The ES22 is a great speaker, and quite a few people here own them or have used them. Do a search on Epos 22 or ES22 and you're bound to get heaps of opinions.

well in singapore, sad to say, its not easy to audition a used pair of speaker. Even if you want to audition a new pair with your system, its quite difficult.
