Dual Sim Mobile Phones (in the UK)

Posted by: Gavin B on 01 October 2009

Does anyone have any experience (in the UK) with dual sim mobile phones?

My wife's company have banned them from making personal calls on their business phones which would mean she would have to carry two phones.

Dual sim phones seem quite common in India and China but not here.

The only one from a recognised brand seems to be the Samsung D880. Anyone used one? What's the battery life like?

Thanks

Gavin, not used on of these, so not sure how good this would be, it is cheap though:-

Yes, I've seen these type of things. It might be a solution, but in general I think they require you to switch your phone off and back on to switch between the sim cards - and that probably also means you couldn't receive calls from both.

I have a dual sim which I bought from Hong Kong through a well known auction site.
It works well and does not need to be switched off to go from one sim to the other.
It has a touch screen, two call buttens and receives calls on either sim also it is not locked to any provider.
Hope the above info helps.

My bestfriend's father uses the samsung you mention and he is very pleased with it. Very practical and no problems at all. Doesn't need to switch on/off.
