please advise about a song

Can anyone help? I recently heard a George Michael cover of an anti war song which i think was called "your grave" or "His grave" something like that. I think they said it was a Don Mclean cover. Does anyone know it and which LP was it on originally. Many thanks

I saw this on Jonathan Ross (I think?), he said it was on American Pie. Though I can not confirm this is true.
