I have heard about this store of historical music mentioned a few times on the radio and have just finished reading these two links.
Smithsonian Folkways Dusts Off Titles With New Technology NYT, needs registration.
I know the registration is a bit of a bummer but the NYT often have things worth reading and you only need to do the deed once.

The success of the “burn to order” service shows how a sound business model with an eye to giving the customer exactly what they want can still managing to make a profit.
I think the Folkways catalogue may well keep my credit card twitching for quite some time.
