What products do you really love?
Posted by: Jonathan Gorse on 17 June 2008
Just thought that it might be worth naming some absolute favourite products - by sharing this information we may all learn a bit!
Pears - the original clear soap. Absolutely love this - the smell, the fact it doesn't dry my skin out when nearly every other soap does. I loved it all my life and used to nag Mum to buy it in the seventies!! Anyone remember all those lovely 'Pears girls' on the telly ads???
Tiptree Orange and tangerine marmalade - Just a heavily concoction of sweet tangerines - spread liberally over butter on toast mmmhhh.
Sharwoods frozen mushy peas (from Iceland) - If you have only ever eaten the tinned stuff these will amaze you. They're so much better than the rubbish the local chippy sells I always make a batch twenty minutes before we go up for the fish and chips! Also good with sausage or pie and mash!
Henna Henara treatment wax - just the best hair conditioner I have ever used and only £2-3 a bottle. Makes my hair feel great - though harder to find on the High Street nowadays!
Neutrogena rain bath shower gel - just a gorgeous smell and makes your skin feel amazing but now only available in this country to the hotel trade sadly.
Badedas - 'Things happen after a Badedas bath' - or at least they used to before I had kids!!
Reynolds 531 - on my Raleigh Royal touring bike circa 1986 - the ride, beauty and quality of paint on this 22 year old bike utterly destroys my newish £700 Scott MTB - oh boy did the English know how to build a bike.
So what favourites would you add to this list?

"tackle odour."LOL!
I have a couple of favourite products, Heinz Baked Beans, and Lech Beer!
Too much Lech can lead to the need for anti-perspirant next day!

Sky+ 160GB - changed all our lives. Couldn't be without it now.
Bedini Clarifier - the only bit of alleged snake oil I have ever fallen for. A bit of an effort to use it but it's worth it in almost every case.
Joop - starts conversations with unknown females all the time.

I've got to agree with JWM on the Frank Coopers, Marmite & real ale - especially some of the Cornish brews - and Bishops Finger from Shepherd Neame.
Add to that Levi's 501's which I have probably worn nearly every day for 25 years and Fray Bentos steak & kidney pies in the tin, and that'll be me done.

I realised that I have been wearing the same combination with Ben Sherman short sleeved shirts since the early '60s.
Boring old fart that I am.

As Rockingdoc seems to have similar taste as me, he should love this painting I have hung up in my dining room.

Much as I used to love 501s, it's sad to report that their quality in the last few years has gone down rapidly. I find the inferior material now used around the waist band is prone to severe shrinkage.

I've been finding the same thing with all my trousers recently.

Well that's spooky! I've noticed that too! No doubt an international conspiracy between trouser-makers.
Another example of surreptitious cost-cutting short changing the poor consumer!

Have the Naim Forum Massive uncovered a clothing conspiracy?
