What products do you really love?

Posted by: Jonathan Gorse on 17 June 2008

Just thought that it might be worth naming some absolute favourite products - by sharing this information we may all learn a bit!

Pears - the original clear soap. Absolutely love this - the smell, the fact it doesn't dry my skin out when nearly every other soap does. I loved it all my life and used to nag Mum to buy it in the seventies!! Anyone remember all those lovely 'Pears girls' on the telly ads???

Tiptree Orange and tangerine marmalade - Just a heavily concoction of sweet tangerines - spread liberally over butter on toast mmmhhh.

Sharwoods frozen mushy peas (from Iceland) - If you have only ever eaten the tinned stuff these will amaze you. They're so much better than the rubbish the local chippy sells I always make a batch twenty minutes before we go up for the fish and chips! Also good with sausage or pie and mash!

Henna Henara treatment wax - just the best hair conditioner I have ever used and only £2-3 a bottle. Makes my hair feel great - though harder to find on the High Street nowadays!

Neutrogena rain bath shower gel - just a gorgeous smell and makes your skin feel amazing but now only available in this country to the hotel trade sadly.

Badedas - 'Things happen after a Badedas bath' - or at least they used to before I had kids!!

Reynolds 531 - on my Raleigh Royal touring bike circa 1986 - the ride, beauty and quality of paint on this 22 year old bike utterly destroys my newish £700 Scott MTB - oh boy did the English know how to build a bike.

So what favourites would you add to this list?

My Zenit fotosniper, I bought one like this a few years ago, it is about 30 years old, had clearly never been out of the box, it has the most over engineered metal case, and you feel like a spy just looking at it.

I expect SO19 would gun you down without a second thought should you ever attemt to use it in public though:

Can't believe I've used anything else to pump up my bike tyres up until now

Received mine yesterday; so much less hassle than a hand pump, and far less likely to bust valve stems (got through THREE inner tubes in a month with my old one!). Nicely pumped up to 60psi in about 10 seconds on each tyre.

Not so nice a bike ride now, but the speed!

...it even does my Airzound bike horn (quality product for making lazy dogwalkers and Stevie Wonder-esque car drivers aware of presence) so that's cool!

Other than that - favourite products?

Newcastle Brown

My mate was visited by the Police when he was using a similar camera arrangement, after a concerned citizen (nosy parker) reported a man with a gun at the side of the road. 1964 not post 9/11 I'll point out.

Not the most aesthetically beautiful product but hugely practical for slipping on and off whilst going in and out of the garden (particularly the kids), great on holiday.

Great leisure clothing, hoodies, t shirts etc. Excellent quality, good prices, not made in sweatshops, stylish and dare i say it as an 'oldie' pretty cool............................ Go on treat yourself................Sadly the customer service was sh1te and I ended up waiting over a month for my stuff and after increasingly Mr Angry phone calls two sets of the same thing arrived. Never have this problem with NEXT.

My daughter won't even wear pink. She refused to go for a job at one of the travel agents on account of their uniform having pink shirts/blouses.

I had blue hair at one point, last general election I think! There is also a picture of me with purple hair with David Cameron wearing a pastel green tie somewhere, now that clashed horribly! My hair has been back to it's natural blond in summer/ginger in winter for a while now though.
