old XPS/CDSIII

Does old XPS work together with new CDSIII? Will
it even be possible to upgrade XPS?

as i understand from the show, there will be backwards and foward compatibility between the CD and pre-amp psu's, so you can use an old XPS with the CDS3 and CDX2, and the new XPS with th old CDS2 and CDX. Also the new supercap / hicap can be used to power the older pre-amps and vice-versa.

The only psu's that cannot be used to power another model are on the higher grade pre-amps and power amps. IE, only the 552 PSU can be used to power the NAC552, likewise with the NAP 300 and NAP 500. so to go from a 252 to a 552, you need to bite the bullet and buy the whole job lot!

i think box upgrades will be available (paul mentioned this on another thread), but i'm not sure about actual upgrades to the electronics. hope this helps.
