TV remote also switches off VCR problem

I have a Sony TV and a JVC VRC. When the TV is switched off with the TV remote, the VCR is also turned off. Anybody know how I can stop this from happening. Confused

That’s what I thought 12 months ago. I Binned the VCR and mothballed the Pioneer DV 717. Replaced them with a Panasonic DVD recorder.

I found the Panasonic didn’t come close to the DV717 visually or sonically plus I very rarely used the recorder. So the DVD recorder has been mothballed, replaced by the DV717 and a JVC SVHS VCR. Smile Smile

It was a joke, and whatever your reason is to keep your VCR, it is a good one for you.

Check your TV user's manual, you may have program the concurent power off that was commun at the time. You can also try a different code for your TV, Sony TV use to have a large number of program codes.
It would be very strange if they really have the same code.

Problem solved

I connected the VCR to the TV though a different scart socket. Apparently, although not mentioned in the manual, one of the scart sockets on the TV allows the component that is connected through it, to control the TV and vice versa, assuming that are compatible.
