You've been Greenwashed - A thread for pseudo green/environmet bullsh!t

Hi all

Am I the only one who finds it amusing that every company on earth is now marketing themselves and their goods as being environmentally friendly irrespective of the obvious true facts.

How about using this thread to post the most humorous green-BS that you've heard in an advert or marketing campaign recently.

It could be argued that my old Biology teacher, Arnold Darlington, did me serious psychological damage in the mid-seventies, but since having serious talks to him about this I have been convinced of the whole mess that is going to unfold as industrial agriculture become too expensive for all but the richest in the world to be able to afford to maintain in the shorter run, and eventually becomes completely impossible with or without wealth.

People are shocked by my approach to uneaten food. It becomes tomorrow's food for me whether I fancy it or not. The rubbish bin is not an option! This will become the norm once again even for people in affluent countries.

And the whole problem is nothing other than over-population. Nothing else. If there were less than 2 Billion people on the planet the issue would not arrise because the adjustements to a post oil world would be made slowly enough to allow for an orderly progression.

The transition may lead to the very end of human existence as things are going on if apocalyptic war results. It may be too late or it may not, to avaoid armaggedon, but nothing is going to make the transition possible without great grief with such gross over-population.

Sincerely, George

George,
There is an overview of the industrial agriculture dilemma on energybulletin.net that was just put up today. It's called "What will we eat as the oil runs out?", by Richard Heinberg. Insightful to say the least.

What a splendid article.

I post a direct link below, so that others may easily access some serious consideration of the issues, and far more authoritatively than my own thoughts based on experience and deep consideration of a huge amount of reading over a thrity year period:

Link.

Not for the faint haearted I suspect. ATB from George
