AV2 Signal Loss

Posted by: wobrenton on 17 January 2007

My AV2 does not hold the DVD or TV signal (from the cable box) when switched on from the dark mode. I have to power down the AV2 and let it reset, then it picks up the signal. Has anyone had a similar problem, and if so is it fixable?

Thx,
Bill

Not sure. How do I check?

Figured it out. Software is AVCO106 F658. Do you know if this is the latest version?

AVc01-07/F658 is most recent.

-Are you getting 3 flashing bars and no audio?

-I assume that you are running optical or coax rather than analogue?

if so try the other coax/optical inputs. Do they work?

-Are the cables fitted securely

I used to have exactly the same problem, when my AV2 was fed Sky via Panasonic DVD HDD recorder via DVDO scaler, never when fed direct from the DVD5. I somehow think that the DVDO messed around with the signal a bit in such a way that the AV2 took offence to. I noticed that if Sky was powered off and the AV2 had not been fed a signal for a long period of time, even though the Panasonic HDD and DVDO were still on, then it would do this and I would have to power cycle to bring it back. If I leave Sky on all the time, then no problem.
