HDX Ripping Problem
Posted by: Ultramanzero on 18 February 2010
So far I have ripped about 250 CDs, 6 of them cannot be ripped completely or some digital noise is induced in the ripped file. This happen only in last track of the CD, including a brand new Yo-Yo Ma CD that I bought last week.
Is this only the disc problem but those CDs played fine with my PC.
Any user experienced similar problem?

Odd one. When I bought mine it rejected 2 or 3 discs wich it would not read but never had it do a partial rip or have any noise on tracks.

Ultramanzero - can you drop me an email at phil.harris@naimnet.com and we can take a look into the issue you're having - it's unusual but not unknown for a disc to be unrippable but we've not come across discs which rip with "digital noise" in the resultant file so it woudl be good to clear this one up.
Cheers

If you use dbpoweramp to rip the CDs using your PC this will show whether there are any errors. The last track of a CD is on the ouside edge.
CDs can often be improved by cleaning. A little water and a soft tissue works quite well.
