Dreaming of a new preamp

Hi there,
My 102 (with HiCap&NAPSC) works very satisfying but a 252 is tempting me. I am not sure if there is any good reason to go for Supercap II first rather than upgrading all at once. Can I expect substantial improvements in sound quality when using a Scap II with my 102 as a first step?

Yes I am using a 102 with a supercap (that also powers the digital portion of the 102 via a SLIC cable). Highly recommended as the first step to the upgrade.

Yes, you can. The supercap makes a substantial difference to all the preamps (even the 112, though that is by no means a sensible suggestion of course). It's remarkable what effect decent regulation and overspecced power supplies do to things like this!
