uniti from firmware 3.00.00 or above.

And how do i read file's out of mine HDD. Do i need something like a server on my computer/NAS??

And why not selection for CD at the uniti inputs? Only the software controlled parts?

The Uniti and UnitiQute are both UPnP Clients so you will need to be running a UPnP server application on your PC or your NAS (many NAS have a UPnP Server built into the box - the NetGear ReadyNAS Duo's work well for us) for your Uniti/UnitiQute to see your music files.

The iPhone / iPod Touch app *DOES* support the control of the Uniti's CD Player but the Uniti itself may need a software update before it is able to be controlled - I understand that some early units may also require a hardware modification as well.

Please see your dealer for further information on whether this is necessary for your unit. They should have the information that they need to know which Uniti's need updating and how.

Cheers

Not cool.

I am sorry but it should be free (or no more than $5). The few extra Uniti/Qutes sold because of a slick interface like this should make-up for the outlay developing it.

I dont think this is the place to be attempting to make a little extra revenue.

Also, it would differentiate Naim from Linn in this regard.

Patrick.
I agree with you 100% but there's worse to come ! Look at this forum thread where additional costs of £340 are being talked about !! Not a word from Naim though. Complete dogs breakfast of a product launch.

I will stay with my Apple Airport Express / Remote combo which works fine for me.

Could you tell us or find out from what s/n there will be a hardware mod required is?

And those firmware upgrade. What will it cost and how can you do that. By your self? Or only the dealer?

With respect: it does say (in app description) you need 3.00.00 firmware and that new UnitiQutes have this but older NaimUniti will require an update which you should see dealer about.

Eloise

P.S. Is there any chance an administrator could merge this and the almost identical thread where it's clear about needing firmware/hardware update for the NaimUniti (or close/lock one of the threads).

Eloise. You are quite right but what concerns me is that the app description does not go on to tell us that a hardware upgrade for the Uniti is also necessary which can cost up to £340 for older models.
Maybe all these forum comments are just heresay and rumour so it would be appropriate to have a statement from Naim to end the speculation.
