Dean..
It's well on the way - JT were sort of part folk-rock, part prog-rock part Mick Abrahams and part seed-drill inventor. Made some seriously good albums.

Talking of which - have you tried some

The first few P.F.M albums sound great, the original Italian versions, not the English language re-recordings.

And Chris Squire's Fish out of Water also, the orchestra at the end is over the top

prog on !

( how does one post pics? I am not getting the option like on the other reply sections of the forum )

Paste the jpg address of a picture (ie from amazon or fickr etc) you want to display into the image url button, second from right above the text box when you post a reply.

Gotta sort out when you can listen to prog!!

Harold - You have posted a link to page on the web. You need to actually post link to the pic you want to load. If on a mac, put cursur over picture and then do ctrl and enter on mouse, then copy image address. If on PC, put cursur on picture you want and then I think it is right click properties and copy the address you see ending in jpg.

Your link must end in jpg to work.

Hi Joaquim,

Brought up with the sounds of Pink Floyd which was always played by my dad on a Garrard 401/SME Arm, Quad Amps and Mordaunt Short Floorstanders.

We need to get NormanD posting his Prog Rock favorites.

I started this thread to find out what you guys like as far as great sounding prog album recording and now it become faforite prog recording instead. But to me that's fine because it make me coming back to this thread to remind me of some forgotten prog gemms and maybee even discover some new one's.I like all the biggest acts like Genesis,Yes,King Crimson,Van der graaf,ELP and etc so I will include some more not as obvious one's.For instance I really love first 5 Camel albums especially 1st and Mirage, american bands like Hands,Cathedral,Lift,Yezda Urfa(Gentle giant alike)a Mithrandir.German bands Novalis,Grobschnitt,Emtidi,Epidaurus,Epidermis and hungarian one's Omega,Solaris.More english bands Fruupp,Beggars opera,Esperanto and czech band Colegium Musicum,Flamengo/Kure v hodinkach and austrian Kylie Elyison, france Ange,Schylock,Arachnoid, netherlandian Focus, polish SBB,italian Le Orme,Banco,Alpataurus,Celeste,New Trolls and many others. All these are highly recommended.90's Anglagard,Anekdoten,Cast,Citizen Cain,A piedi Nudi,Deadwood Forest,Wobler,Willow white,IQ,Djam Karet,Planet X .....

No ROTF, and why that particular album is it the key to unlock the Folk music door?
