However good the CD, I think I would almost have to have a knife to my throat to buy any Daily Mail publication!

Should be able to get one from E-Bay in a day or so.

Remarkable. The freebie sounds better than my French 96k/24 bit version, remastered by Scott Hull in New York a few years ago.

Annoyingly, the only date on this version of the CD I have is 1976!

The 'New Master Recording' freebie sounds a lot more spacious and seems to convey a better sense of rhythm, detail and control.

Thanks for the info Keith.

Clearly those eBayers have been following this thread and JN's recommendation! The 'freebie' is going for £4+... Big Grin

Awaiting my copy from E-Bay £2:58 including P&P only 8p more than the paper and no right wing trash.

Smile I'm right with you there, brother!

Do you mean to say the Mail's got a political bias? Surely not! Winker

Is that not right. I'm sure some one will correct if not.

I was given one today. Can only compare it with my old snap, crackle and pop vinyl, I'm afraid, but this freebie CD certainly sounds impressive. (It'll still not entice me to buy the rag, though Big Grin)

Interestingly, my 15-year old son just asked why I was listening to a CD of school TV science programme sound effects?!! The world has moved on...

I've always known of the album but never heard it until now.

My God its a dirge! The sound maybe high quailty but I doubt I'll ever play it again. I spent the whole of each track waiting for it to get going. It never did. Oh dear.

I suppose you had to be there (ie. the 70's when no-one had heard a synthesiser before).
