Seems to be a lot of personalised plates in NZ, or maybe I'm just more observant when on hols.
One I noticed in Christchurch a couple of weeks ago was CVRGRL, with a driver to match.

When I had my first job one of the bosses had the numberplate '5 BOB' which I thought was quite good. The one that made me laugh, in that immature way, was the numberplate on a Mercedes belonging to, I believe, ex motorcycle & truck racer turned commentator, Steve Parrish. 'PEN15'.

This reminds me of the reported football score after Rodney Marsh had 'won' and scored a penalty in the 15th minute against QPR. The scorecard read thus:
Manchester City 1 - 0 QPR
Marsh (pen15)
I and other QPR fans certainly agreed with the sentiment!
Mark
ps there may be some dramatic licence involved here!

Seen years ago on a 911 turbo: TUR 13D. I assumed it was meant to be turbo, but I read it as something a little different....
One I always liked was TEA 42.
If I had silly money to spend, I would choose 13 RAD.

Saw a Saab 900 T with SAB 900 T on it once. Mine had a bog standard plate and was red with rage when it came across that one

Many years ago I saw FU 2 on a very nice yellow Fiat 124 Coupe, according to the press at the time the number was owned by an exotic lady who posed and wrote for Men Only (I know not the sort of periodical you would expect Naim owners to be aware of), Fiona someone or other ?
There is I presume an overpaid disk jockey who lives round the corner who has the number RAD102, which isn't as hip or cool as the racing driver Les Leston's old number DAD10.
The Bristol demonstrators in their showroom in Kensington sport the matching numbers, MPH100, and 100MPH. But that's quite boring really.

Trivia:
The plate 'F1' belongs to Essex county council.
The most expensive plate ever sold at auction was K1 NGS

In the garage of the obscenely large and ostentatious house at the end of Cheyne Walk, next to the river in Chelsea you sometimes see two cars:
Ferrari with "2B"
Bentley with "NOT 2B"

I think he/she has traded one of the cars for an Aston now

A friend of mine has UR 02 SLO and theres a Bentley Continental in my village with F11LMS, thought it was Michael Winner at first and then realised he doesn't sell windows

A local accountant has K 111 TAX which, with judicious use of the fixing screw and some alternative spacing, comes out as Kill TAX.
I saw T4CKY come up for sale a while ago, but a price in excess of £7,000 was more than enough to put me off.
I'm not really bothered about having a personalised plate, but I did once bid for one at a DVLA auction. I was not successful and I believe the plate was withdrawn from sale. It was A55 OLE.
