flat-cap versus NAPSC
Posted by: Jacobus on 21 August 2005
Hi,
about two years ago I bought me an older nac 82
with NAPSC,I powered it with my flat-cap.So
far no problem. One year ago I purchased a super-
cap to power the nac 82 instead of my flatcap to-
gether with my NAPSC for the digital circuit.
Well,I thought, lets put the flatcap on the digital
circuit instead of the NAPSC...BAD IDEA! DON'T
TRY THIS AT HOME! My nac 82 began to change the
choosen inputs by itself,it shutted down by itself
...finally it went dead.Back to the store, where they
fixed it,without knowing themselves what went wrong.
My guess is that the flat-cap delivers too much current
for the digital circuit for the nac 82 or any Naim-
pré for that matter...more fool me
