Best external USB hard drive

Hi,I own a Naim Uniti and 95% of the music it plays are flacs from an external harddrive. I used a small Samsung 250GB 2,5" drive but it stopped working yesterday and when it worked I regulary had problems with interruptions while music was playing so i guess it was to slow. Now I really need to get an new one quick. I thought about getting a big 3,5" drive, it would be less mobile but I only need to move it to my PC and back to add new music so that no big problem. But i heard that these drives are even more sensitive then the 2,5" ones especially in non-stop operation.
So whats better, 2,5" or 3,5", and what are the best models?

I just got into digital via Naim DAC/Naim XPS combination. The source is a PC laptop with Windows 7 (64-Bit). Digital interface is supplied via the M2Tech Hiface.
I use a Samsung 1.5TB USB drive and it works fine:

Perhaps you could take this opportunity to invest in a NAS. For just music a twin drive nas would be plenty
