Canadians on the forum?

Posted by: Martinleon on 26 January 2008

Hello everyone, I am a new Naim owner and enjoy very much the collegiality of this forum. I particularly enjoy the feeling of being connected to people from around the world.

I am also curious to see how many people are from Canada (incluant le Québec mes amis!) on this forum. Why not posting a line here and tell me where you are (town and province) in Canada and what is your Hi-Fi system.

I will obviously start! I am Martin from the south shore of Montreal in Quebec. I have a Supernait with CD5X. I am using the Hi-Line interconnect and NACA5 cables. My speakers are Spendor S8e.

Let's see how many fellow compatriotes are on this forum!

Thanks

Welcome to the forum.
I live in the UK, but my speakers are Canadian (Totem Forests). Does that count?
OK, I also love your country, having ski'd in Bannf area & Whistler quite a few times.
Cheers,
Matt.

Manicatel: Thanks for the comment and welcome. I have never been skiing in Western Canada myself so you know a bit more about my country than myself Smile

Welcome Tuan and thanks for the reply! So far we are two Canadian and one Canada lover!

OK, I'm British but.

We have a house in BC (Predator Ridge Golf Course between Kelowna and Vernon) and visit Canada quite a few times a year.

My middle daughter is married to a Canadian (they live on the same golf course) and his parents live in Canmore, Alberta so we spend a lot of time in the Rockies.

We have flown to most of the airstrips in BC and Alberta, played 9 holes at each nearby course and hiked quite a few trails in the Rockies including the Rockwall, Assiniboine and the back of Robson.

Now for the BIG admission - we don't have ANY hifi system in Canada. We simply don't have any time, even in the winter.

fantastic country and superb people.

Cheers

Don

Hi Martinleon, most of the Canadians have been kicked off the forum or locked out...
Posted on: 27 January 2008 by Martinleon
Hey, cool more more people!

Mykel: Welcome, most responses so far from the West. Glad to see there is some Naim systems going East!

Sandy: Hello, quite a nice set up. Since I am a newbie with Naim I'm still having difficulty understanding all the components and how they fit but it sounds impressive (I kept mine simple... for now!)

hi fi fo fum: Hello and Welcome. Surely hope this is a joke (I know it is). I always thought Canadians have a good reputation internationnaly! Kicked off? I would be surprised. Locked out? That I wouldn't be surprised Winker

Y'a-t-il des Québécois dans la salle? Stoik, au moins je sais qu'il y a toi mais où es-tu ces jours-ci?

I think Canadains are getting bolder and bolder and less refined......what do you guys think?
Posted on: 31 January 2008 by Manu
More and more Canadains are enjoying their music on a Naim system and don't have time left for the forum.

Doing my best to be everywhere in Canada.

Having got all Naim products at home except DBLs IIRC.

One of the things Montreal has over the rest of the world is Steamies and Poutine.
There was a place near me in Toronto called "Steamies" sold them for .75 cents ....the place went bust nobody bought anything else...

And the owner of the "La Belle Province" chain is Greak, that's Montreal.
