epos 14s or credo's??

hello,
i have the opportunity to get some credos for a good price off a very good friend, in mint condtition, bout 2 years old, however as he lives in london and im in manchester i will be buying pretty blind, my listening room is about 12 by 14, partnering electronics are meridian 200 (soon to be replaced with a cdx when i get a cds2), dpa converter, 102, 250, hicap, would i be better off with the credos or best sticking with the 14's?
best regards,
gus

gus,

I wouldn't buy any pair of speakers blind.

Personally, unless there is something wrong with the ES14s or you really don't get on with the sound, I'd save the money for source, preamp or support upgrades.

hi david,mike
this is my second system, first is cdx, about to get a 52, xps, supercap, about to get 2 135s, with shahinian compass, all boxes on fraim, the meridian is the second system will be replaced by cdx and the 140 im about to sell will be replaced by my current 250, so im not really looking for more boxes, more of a cheap and satisfactory upgrade, problem i have is that the 14's generate a bit too much bass especially with having a low ceiling - yes they need a lot of room to breath!, as the second system is in a basement room which has been drylined but still has cheshire brick walls covered in rugs. i suppose i could alwasy get the credos and give them a go, selling on the speaker that suits the room less.
