In Teddington. I nearly crashed as I watched it go by.

In case anyone is wondering what a FS-1E is, here's a picture...

When in my teens, a couple of my friends had them.

i had a YG-1F Big Grin

ah the Fizzy. Takes me right back to teenage life on the edge

They were good for 60mph according to friends at the time!!! Only downhill with a tail wind though Winker

I remember the older, derestricted ones fetching a premium in the mid to late '70's.

So-o-o sad.

Frown

A deprived lost youth
Spotty teenagers having orgasm's over something with 6bhp

I passed my test 1 month after my sixteeth birthday
Next day I bought one of these

Big Grin

If that is your Norton, I am in awe. Beautiful job.

Sorry Rockingdoc, not actually mine, but very close.
I sold it many years ago (getting married stuff) for peanuts.
I don't have a digi-pix of it - must get that done sometime.

Mine was red & most times with a MV look-a-like fairing
Non-visible mods were - CR box, sport cam, HC pistons, flowed ports & valves, sports Amal's (memory getting fuzzy)
Visible mods were - alloy wheels, straight bars, twin leading edge front brake (same as pix), Paul Dunstall sweptback pipes & megs (jeez where did that name from memory lane come from)

I used it very much for long distance - including dating most weekends for 6 months a girl in Edinburgh - & commuting Bucks to Bristol, Soton & Bath for tech college.

Apart from the legendary Norton road holding, it was the fastest thing on the road (in my area)
Bragging claims of its speed are not required - I have retained (my pride & joy) speeding ticket for 123mph
The car cop was an ex-bike & spend 2 minutes on the ticket & 20 minutes discussing the bike & its mods
- he couldn't believe it. 123mph was all he could record, it was actually more (not bad for the 1960's & 600cc)

One of these being delivered to the dealership where my Lotus was being serviced yesterday, one of the first in the UK.

We decided it looked a bit shovel-nosed, but I did offer to take if for a spin in case I changed my mind. Oddly they declined.

Chaps

I have been riding around on a 1960 BSA 650cc twin for the last few weeks. It is a goergeous touring bike which just eats up the miles.

Riding a bike around the cotwolds is a great way to spend a day.

Regards

Nice to see that some people are still doing REALLY well in the UK.

Fizzy Disc we used to call it. I crashed one once in the middle of nowhere learning to ride at an illegal age.

Takes me back!

FS1E, piece of crap compared to my old Gilera 50 trial, which was nowhere near as quick as my mates Malagutti Olympic

Oh this takes me back.

I had a fizzy for about 8 months, a real heap of shit, but I loved it! I sprayed the tank bright orange which obviously made it go just that little bit faster than my mate's Winker
