Lack of space on my Lovan racks and NAP NAC FC2 CD5 positioning advice?

Posted by: karyboue on 06 August 2002

I have a lovan pyramid avr (3 racks of 1m wide).

here is the disposition :

TV 16/9
________________
NAP150..........CD5
....FC2..........NAC112
________________

...VCR............HOME-
...DVD ........CINE AMP

I don't have enough space to place correctly the elements.
What would be the "best" positions of the Naim elements on my rack knowing the VCR and DVD can't go on the upper shelve.

I'd do this...

Pre>>>>>FC2
CD>>>>>>150

With as big a gap between the 2 stacks as possible. This arrangement helps to keep the big toroids in the ps/amp as far away as poss from the more 'sensitive' components.
Please yerself whether you stack pre on cd or vice versa. Some will say adding weight to the top of the cd players case will over-damp the sound emanating from it. Others will say bollocks...stack 'em the other way up.
This is the Naim forum afterall. You'd be wrong to expect any sort of consensus wink

Suck it and see eh?
