The best motivator to buy more CDs...
Posted by: RogerRoger on 18 July 2009
Bought a wood effect CD rack while back which only held about 70% of my collection. I've now bought another and, by definition, it's only about a third full with the left overs...
Boy - do I now want to go on a CD spending spree to fill it up.
Thank goodness for all the muppetts who buy CDs only to rip to crappy MP3 players and then sell for next to next to nothing on *b*y or Amazon...

Love of music?

The excitement of the new, finding a particular recording/pressing you have been after, the joy from spending time in a good record shop, the aesthetic re your CD rack ...
Against - cost, and look at your collection - have you given it a fair crack, tracks and albums still to be played?
Cheers,
OW

This forum has made me buy a few. i love it when somebody 'connects' a new artist or recording to one I already know and like, opening a door to a new strand of music.

This forum has helped me buy a lot, other forums too, and most of all following a link [real or imagined] to something similar. I tried to buy all the string quartets.

A CD555 CD music replay at it's best. Just ordered mine, can't wait to sit down and play them all, I'm sure I will be buying a lot more to listen to when it arrives.

Quiet 12 hour night shift browsing feebay, sort to CDs', Albums, Auctions only then ending soonest. Stick 1p or 99p bids on (half) decent stuff that is ending in the next few minutes. Can quite easilty end up with loads of extra CDs that way!

Actually, it's probably just take my 18 year old son to Fopp - we always come back with numerous purchases.
And Yes he does prefer the 'real thing' to a download!
