Analogue radio switch off

In announcing the ceasing of the black and white TV licence the analogue TV switch of was announced (or re-announced) as happening in 2008
What is the latest official line on the analogue (FM) radio switch off?

No date has even been proposed yet.

Or maybe the example of the Swedes will kick in and the roll out of DAB will die?

One can hope, though it will happen sooner or later as I suspect the lure of re-selling the frequency will prove too appealing to whatever government we have at the time.
However, even with the higher market penetration of digital TV* the last analogue switch-off is set for 2012 so on that basis I'd say we have a good few years of analogue radio yet.
* I have no data to back this claim up, but an entirely unscientific survey of friends at work shows almost everyone** having cable/freeview/chav-dish but hardly anyone with a DAB tuner in the house, one with a portable DAB and nobody with carDAB.
** actually, everyone but me and I don't even have a television to start with.

Bring it on, can't see it happening down here for a long time yet. Perhaps we'll see a slow migration south for all those 02's and 01's.
I could handle an 01 for £450!

Steve is correct. A couple of weeks ago I listened to someone from the BBC say there was no date at all to turn of analogue radio. Making reduntant every radio in a household would be a stupid act!

In view that the BBC is funded by the taxpayer, would any decision to eventually end FM/MW/AM broadcasting, have to be approved by Parliment?
