Dear kuma!
Is this you? I hope so as I always have wanted to have a real picture to help me visualise the author of your posts, which so often seem to chime with my view to a remarkable extent!
All the best from Fredrik
PS: I don't have a guitar, so you will have to look under 'systems and owners pics' to fill in the missing link. The best one there shows me with my lovely five string double bass, but I expect you have already seem that. Page 10 or 11 on that Thread!

Chaps
I have one of these.
http://www.thepodium.com/pm-14388-292-lowden-f-32c-rosewoodsitka.aspx
I am the living proof that even a beautiful instrument such as this will sound dire when some old fool like me is trying to play it.
I shall be "unemployed" next month and I will hopefully have some time to start practicing again. I gave up as frankly I was too tired to learn during the evening after doing a 12 hour day. My constitution is not what it was.
I must say, mine looks a bit dull compared to Kumas.
Regards
Mick

Daer Mick,
I really hope the comment, 'gave up,' only reflects a pause before more time allows for a restart!
Then you can post a picture of yourself with your own guitar!

Fredrik you REALLY don't want to see that.

Dear Howard,
I am mostly a gentle sort of of man, and so I doubt if Mick's portrait would do other than make me happy!
It is amazing how whenever I imagine a Forum member, and then see a photo, I am wildly out! Of course there is no logical reason as to why one should be able to imagine a person from posts on the ether, but stillI do find myself doing it!
It is so warm I did not go for my usual Saturday evening beverage, and am having a quiet time, just messing.
I bought some data discs the PC will not recognise, so there is a little job for again, to exchange them.
goog night to you all. Fred

Hello Kitty!
Very cool. I had a friend of mine paint his off-road truck purple and outfit it with Hello Kitty seat covers. Have to be comfortable with one's masculinity to do that.
Here's a pic of my most recent baby. Chestnut burl on top of Mahogony with a 5-piece Maple neck and Ebony fingerboard.
My only regret is not owning one of these beautiful instruments years ago.

David.
What a beauty!
Mick,
I once got to play a full-size Bosendorfer concert grand.
Even I sounded pretty good.
Sometimes, it does help to have a decent *tool*.
I also gave up on piano as I realised I didn't have 8 hrs. a day to practice everyday to be anywhere near acceptable.
If it's too loud, you are too old.
Fredrik,
I keep you guessing.

Mick,
I too have a Lowden guitar along with some shame! I got mine around 1986/87, learnt a few basic chords, not much else, put it back in its case with the intention one day to learn. Ahem! By sheer coincidence, the week before last I finally brought it down to 'Tin Pan Alley' (Denmark Street) and left it to have the neck adjusted and new strings fitted. Should be ready for collection this week - hopefully this time I'll do something about it or live in eternal shame. Particularly as, to these untrained ears, it has a wonderful sound in other, competent hands!

I have been very pleased with this - now my No. 1 axe, replacing an ageing Les Paul Custom. Recommended.

Just borrowed a flatbed scanner today to scan some pics for a slideshow at my sister's wedding. I ran across this Polaroid of my 1929 National Duolian. Sorry for the dust specs... I was not going to spend an hour in Photoshop to get rid of them...

Rocketboy - 1929 National Duolian, the best one yet, respect.
(I listen a lot to Rory Gallagher, for me the master of the National and bottle neck - e.g. 'As the crow flies'Looking at your atmospheric guitar photo is making the hairs on the back of my neck stand up!)

She's a beauty and I paid next to nothing for her in 1991... $500 USD if I remember correctly. I had to have the fingerboard removed and refitted and the next steamed to straighten it enough to play it. The tech also installed a rod of carbon fibre under the fingerboard (which you don't see) and it has held straight for 13 years now. Plays like a dream.

I am such a moron... that should read 'the neck steamed...'
Posted on: 27 June 2006 by kuma
rocketboy,
Nice!
p.s. I like the dust on the Polaroid as a part of special *effects*.

Don't ask me why, but the only pictures I seem to have of my guitars are Polaroids, this time my late-1950's Silvertone, made by Danelectro. I string it with heavy guage nickel wounds, set the action up fairly high and use it as the electric version of the National. Great tone.

Hey Kuma,
I have a pink paisley Telecaster that I just got and will photograph soon... but I am not nearly man enough to play a 'Hello Kitty' guitar...!!!
