Hi Nuno!
I think that you can buy it, but Massive Attack are only Blue Lines and Protection.

Cheers

Or should i say... too experimental.

I think that's a little unfair to Mezzanine which is an excellent album in its own right, and largely eclipses the very good blue lines.
Posted on: 25 March 2006 by jasons
oops! Sorry, forgot about that one Roll Eyes
Posted on: 25 March 2006 by Gianluigi Mazzorana
I have all, but Protection (Tracey Thorn is fantastic) is the kind of album i would bring on my desert island.
From Mezzanine there's a lot of computer and less heart, i think.

the best of seems intersting because they add a few new songs!I´ve got to listen it,and decide!

But what about No Protection - Massive Attack Vs the Mad Professor? An absolute classic

Hi Jcs!
I must admit that i don't like it.
I don't why.
Maybe because Protection is "the perfect" album?
Posted on: 27 March 2006 by jcs_smith
I herd No protection first and in comparison I thought Protection wasn't very good. But I am a huge fan of the Mad Professor and not a big fan of Massive Attack. I even preferred the Billy Cobham track they sampled

OK,I´ve bought today the Best of Massive Attack, and it is great, the SE comes with all DVD´s of the band and the cd comes with a few new songs!
The voice and the looks of Tracey Thorn in protection is amazing

I have to say I think the new track with Terry Callier is fantastic and I will be ordering the Best Of...

But then they are local Smile

From what I understand the greatest hits only has one new track, I think it would be better to buy all four albums as some of the album tracks are excellent songs in their own right.

I would say that in order of preference my favs are

1 - Blue lines
2 - Mezzanine
3 - Protection
4 - 100th window

and "Danny the dog"
Posted on: 29 March 2006 by Nuno Baptista
Is Tracey Thorn still the lead singer of "Everything but the Girl"?Or this band doesn´t exist anymore?

WHAT!? I thought I got ripped off on the measly fiver I wasted on that in FOPP. I just don't get it! Maybe I should give it another go...

What about "Mezzanine"? At least that album has "Teardrop" on and isn't crap; I'm totally GUTTED I wasted £17.99 on "100th Window" on vinyl. As with Suede's "Dog man star" though, I was too embarrassed to take it back.

"Blue lines" is perfection throughout though - it's one of those albums I just have to keep going back to.

If you don't like dub it's probably not worth the trouble. Just realise that there is a huge and wonderful world of music that you will never understand. And really Suede? Are you sure you want to admit to that one?

I bought the greatest hits yesterday, already have all the albums on vinyl and cd though.

I bought it mainly because the limited edition comes with all the promo videos on dvd for an extra few £.

Just found i had this on vinyl!!!!

And it sounds bloody excellent, even on my Project Debut 1 with ortofon cartridge!!! (not quite up to Naim standards, i know).

Ok heres a question for ya Massive Attack fans Winker

What name did the group temporarily change to, as a result of the first album coming out around the time of the gulf war ?

Answers on a postcard... or here.

I have just got this on gatefold triple LP, as I have all their stuff on CD anyway - the bass off the LP's was staggering.... Big Grin

I just don't get it. You handed over a fiver, and got a CD in return. Where does "ripped off" come in to it? Confused
Posted on: 30 March 2006 by Disturbed100
During the gulf war they became simply known as "massive".

Cool
