quote:What about "Mezzanine"? At least that album has "Teardrop" on and isn't crap; I'm totally GUTTED I wasted £17.99 on "100th Window" on vinyl. As with Suede's "Dog man star" though, I was too embarrassed to take it back.
agreed. half way through the first side of "100th Window", i thought that i made a mistake and reset my TT to run at 45 rpms. nope, it still didn't sound right.

Actually, hands up - I admit to THAT one

I like SOME dub that I've heard, like King Tubby and the Hallucinogen remixes, but I don't equate a total musical sampled mishmash sonic wash that is the first track on "No protection" with that. I consider a fiver a ripoff if I don't play a CD more than once.
Will give "No protection" another go when I've got nothing better to do though - maybe it'll while the time away while I'm cleaning the bog this weekend?
What's wrong with Suede - "Dog man star" (and anything post-"Coming up" are obviosly total shite, but "Suede" and "Coming up" are ace, as are some of the b-sides.

That's not a bad description of dub.
What you have to remember is that to make a good dub mix you have to start with a decent piece of music to remix.
