AV2 digital out
Posted by: Stuart M on 11 November 2005
I borrowed an AV2 from Oranges and Lemons while my 102 was back to Naim for a service - I loved what it did, way better than a Yamaha DSP-E800, better than the internal decoder of the Denon DVD 3910 (Whichs knocks the E800 for 6) - how to describe it - well everything just fitted together with the most amazing steering and the Naim drive.
However criticisms were:-
The digital outputs were only available from digital inputs. Since the AV2 has an A2D converter for analog sources, which I assume is way better than anything in a PC, the analog inputs should be available as digital outs as for those digitising our analog sources this would be a killer app.
Six channel input only via Din sockets, it would be good if the phono sockets on the back could be configured for 6 channel in.
Can't afford one now but eBay and x dem could tempt me to do something stupid
