CDX2 Problem
Posted by: StefanS on 06 September 2003
Last year I bought a CDX2. Before I was mainly listening to vinyl, so I hadn't have a big stock of CD. Having such a CD player I then bought more and more CD's.
Now here is my problem: On some CD's (very few), after about 10 sec of playing a song (it appears on every song of a CD) the sound kind of jumps, like on a CD with a scratch. After that the song will be played fine. With the next song the same thing is going to happen.
This happens with the CD is brand new, no scratches.
Whats wrong? I appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks!
Stefan :-)

Stefan, sounds like copy protection, I would advise conatcting your dealer who can upgrade the pic in your player to deal with this.

Hi,
I encountered another more unique problem. I just bought a chinese CD. All the songs skipped exactly at the 9th second mark. There was no indication that the disc was copy protected.
So i thought they even had the audacity to leave out the copy protection mark on the cd. So i tried it on my PC. If I am not wrong, all copy protected CDs cant be read on a cd-rom.
On loading, there was a message that the disc cannot be read and some files needed to be installed. After installing some files, it could be played after all.
Any ideas what is happening?

the pc is probably installing a player of some sort or drivers for an existing player that can then play mp3 or lower quality versions stored on the cd, not an ideal solution imo but one which satisfies the record co's.
In deed it probably is, one of my cd's that is copy protected comes with it's own player that will play the cd on a computer.

two-sheds,
I think you are right. It doesnt even tell that it is copy protected and it is not from one of the major labels. I cant even complain.
