Come on be honest...

We all have a demon or two kicking around...
Whats the nastiest piece of kit you've ever bought and tried to justify afterwards.. red face

Mine.. Plinius 8150 integrated pile of shit amplifier. Proudly made in NZ and much loved by Americans...

Nuff said really razz

Nick - you're absolutely right, it was the 101/105 that I had. Looked good but utter crap when compared to the Naim equivalent (which were not quite the flavour of the month back then that they are now ). The 770s were a bad choice! Bright. Too dynamic. Unbalanced. fatiguing. Replaced with Saras (the opposite - slow, dull etc). The systemdek was actually rather good but, like you, I really hankered after a Linn and regretted wasted cash at a time when I couldve done with it - I shouldve gone for the LP12 straight away. Same for the Saras - I dont really think theyre all that bad (ie not 'bollux hi-fi') and theyre great for the price these days but the bollux bit was finding out that I prefered Kans at a fraction of the price!....ah, those were the days.

I refuse to believe that Nic and Alex's worst hi-fi mistake ever was the Naim 82.

There must be some truly frightening skeletons in the closet if this is the case.

Agreed. If anyone wants me to have their worst hi-fi mistake ever, I'd be willing to suffer an 82.
