I'll be there Sunday from about mid-day armed with George Duke and St Germain CDs to warm up the end stops on whatever bass units are availabe for abuse. And a little bit of Rick Braun to add some culture to the proceedings.
And I promise no Fourplay this year monsieur Abela (even if you're not there).
Thank you and goodnight
Graeme
cheers, Martin

Can you confirm which speakers will be running in the big room (Presidential?)
Martin,

Dev -- who can't go as he will be 7000 miles away, sob

Timo and I will be there on Saturday, so let's meet up.

Let's get speculating!
I'm anticipating a DBL replacement that takes the separate-box-principle to Goldmund Apologue levels.
Andrew
Andrew Randle
Currently in the "Linn Binn"
Does anyone know if Shahinian are going to be present at the show - either directly or indirectly? I am keen to listen to some of their range - especially with Naim gear

Yeah just image if they took the existing speaker and put a round top on it similar to the NBL, it would look like you had half a rowing boat sticking out of your floor!
John
Ps. Word on the grape vine is that it is an SBL replacement...
ah, so the new preamp is called the 552...
looking fwd to hearing good reports on the new speaker (sbl replacement?) and the other surprises
enjoy

Andrew,
good God, I thought DBLs were ugly. Didn't realise just how bad things could be.
cheers, Martin
P.S. I guess speaker will be SBL2, as Doug did tell me they would be on demo this weekend.

I think Isobariks, DBLs, SBLs and IBLs are some of the best-looking loudspeakers ever made. Used as intended, they don't draw particular attention to themselves, IMHO.
Now, the Intro, Credo, Allae and NBL -- that's ugly. IMHO listening to NBLs is like sitting in front of a pair of megaphones inspired by church windows... all that tapering thing is so disquieting. Of coursem they sound amazing, but...
That Goldmund thing is astonishing; DBLs by Richard Rogers.
,,,and I'm with P on "HBL".
Best;
Mark

The implementation is based around a 100 CD rack using Fraim technology and a robotic arm. The arm uses the same operating system as Lego Mindstorms so extra functionality can be added by your local expert (any 8 year-old who lives nearby should do).
Unusually for Naim there is no external PSU support for the robot. In fact the "random play" feature is keyed off the mains-borne noise entering the supply. So those of you with dedicated spurs should see "linear" random play starting with CD1 and ending with CD100 where as the rest of us should get some randomness.
As always the setup is crucial. not to the sound quality, but to the general safety of your equipment rack and yourself! The critical things here are arm to CD rack angle and distance and the arm to CDP angle, distance and height. The robot is "learning" and as part of the setup process you have to lead it through from CD rack to CD drawer several times.
Unfortunately at this time there is no support for top loading CDPs ...

All I'm suggesting is in the interests of Forum members is that there are 6 other dems each day and surely (if the sessions are particularly busy, probably wont be now)as there are over 120 other exhibitors there so there will be lots of other stuff that one can see/hear. I'm not suggesting that anyone should dump their wives/girlfriends although hhmmmm!!!
