Dodgy SNAIC?
Posted by: Steve C 01 on 01 March 2004
I bought a S/H XPS (2002 version) for my CDX over the weekend.
When I connected it up, only the left channel worked. All other sources worked OK, so by process of elimination I isolated it down to the 5 pin SNAIC. Luckily I had a spare, which I fitted and everything was back to normal - well, better than normal really as the XPS & Burndy made their presence felt straightaway - and hopefully more to come.
Questions - the original SNAIC had a sticky locking sleeve at the source end. I may therefore have bent a pin or caused a break in the core getting it off (although I wasn't rough with it and nothing is visually apparent) but have SNAIC interconnects 'let go' in this way in the past?
Also, can anyone recommend a reliable dealer in the south Herts area who could restore to original specs?
Thanks in advance,
