Perm Any Six Amps

HEALTH WARNING (this might be better placed in the Padded Cell)

The other day I was daydreaming. Ok, it was wishful thinking.

What would be the best way to use 6*135s. (or 3*500…..or , in fact, any gain-matched set of six power amps)

Would it be in a six-pack active system ?

Would it be in a 5.1 surround sound system ?

Would it be in a multi-room system ?

I was also wondering whether four speakers, arranged in front of the listener in a kind of 3-dimensional tetrahedron (ok I know there is a bit of tortology in there somewhere !) would give a realistic 3-D sound (L-R; Front-Back; Top-Bottom)with the co-operation of the software moguls of course!!!!

Then I wondered whether Naim, or anyone else, had thought about a convenient SWITCHING DEVICE (I can hear Paul S saying Aaaaarrrrgggghhhh already!) so that I could 'make do' with just one set of six power amps (say in a stack of 3*500s) but, at the flick of a switch, enjoy the benefits of a 'multi-room, active, surround-sound' system, as the mood took me?????????

Any thoughts?

Cheers

Don

I guess you could use 2x NAPV175 as active amps for a pair of three-way speakers.

I suppose the NAP6-50 would also be a possibility in this role, but the output power is apparently not very high. Still, it is fan-cooled.
