Football

Perhaps because of the overdue exciting lucky deserved England cricket summer win(s), people are reluctant to mention football.
England did fine in the end, and I think as a Chelskum that Man U. at least will beat them.
As I have hinted elsewhere long since, Wiggie are worth a follow for the non-footie person.

As a Scotsman, I've always found cricket confusing. Imagine how I felt after the ashes series. I thought that England had won but the post match interviews suggested to me that either Wales or South Africa had won. It was only when I saw the procession through the streets that I could be sure again.

One world. One win. England 2 Oz 1. England 2 Pol 1. Probably all players wherever born ate food etc from all parts of the globe.
Some might say too that Wales is physically quite adjacent to England, and that South Africans are now getting their country back. I like sometimes a tiny country sometives beating a larger one at a (in truth) meaningless but diversionary game.

As a Chelsea/football supporter I am glad that they lost again.
Mourinho-Robben-Crespo seem to be a little upset.
When I performed my 20 or so rituals starting last season they did quite well. I recently broke with these rituals (sadly part of the ritual included owning Naim budget amp/Naim CDP, but I am persevering with using them).
Wigan are still worthy of the non-football follower supporting them, it seems.
Chasetown did quite well at times, and it seemed to be one of the better live early-stage FA Cup matches BBC have shown us in recent years.
I hope that if Chelsea continue to wobble that someone other than previous Premiership winners seize the nettle.

I think you're confusing it with Golf

Dear friends,
Cricket is not dull, but always loosing is. Nothing used to be nicer than quietly listening to the old Test Match Special on Radio Three. Even now it is still grand, though, somehow, the time no longer seems to allow for it. Such is life. I don't think I would get away with making everyone listen to it at work, which IS of course whwn we used to listen to most of it...
