If the TMS is anything like the original Xerses but with more of the same (haven't heard the TMS so can't say for sure) then I would say that you had better get yourself out for a few dems as the Sondek and Xerses were in two different geosynchronous orbits. You will definitely prefer one spin on things over the other. But who can tell you which one that would be? Chaulk and cheese my friend.
And, BTW, the LP12 has changed no end on a continuous basis since its debut. I believe that the outer platter and the rubber feet are the only parts that have remained the same since day one. It just looks and acts the same. I always thought that the perfect vinyl source would combine the best of both decks. I think that Linn were actually aiming for this when they got round to the Cirkus bits. But since they had all surely gone a bit deaf by then, one can't be too sure.

I am looking for good investment in terms of sound quality as well as future resale value.
You are not a commercial estate agent by any chance are you? Sorry for being pedantic, but this choice should come to you via your tapping toes, not your cheque book.
Get listening and keep us informed (we like to live vicariously through others purchases you know)
