Prefix & Hicap or Supercap

Can a supercap power an 82 and a prefix at the same time? If so I'll get one. Otherwise it'll be a hi-cap - anybody done the hicap'd vs supercap'd prefix comparison?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Hi Christopher,
the Supercap should only be used to power one item at a time. Unfortunately unlike the new NAC282, the old NAC82 does not have a powered input socket for either a Stageline or Prefix so I would suggest you stick with the Supercap on the NAC 82 (or do I read that you would stick with a Hi-Cap on the NAC 82...) and dedicate a Hi-Cap to the Prefix.

Richard..slightly off thread, but any more info (price, likely performance gains etc) on upgrading my K prefix to a "new" prefix.( I believe this has been suggested as a possibility) I currently use my K prefix with my Orbe/SMEV/Lyra Helikon(standard version). My prefix is powered by a HiCap. It has a grey captive SNAIC.
Fortunately, RFI is not (audibly at least) a problem for me.....at 3-o`clock all I get thru the speakers is faint white noise (no record playing of course!)
Please excuse my scepticism, but I have tried S-Boards and the S -Prefix, and found the sound quality was not as good as the K version. It has been suggested that the new Prefix just sounds better, period, and that the RFI immunity would be the icing on the cake. Sorry if I have raised this before, but I want to move on this (or not) asap
best wishes

Hi Laurie,
your best bet is to give Mark or Sheila a call in our service department for a quote on having your Prefix updated.
As for the sonic improvements, well it's hard for me to say as I still haven't had a chance to compare the original Prefix with the new improved one. Perhaps our RFI plagued field testers can comment?
