Possible connections...

...between album titles

It occurred to me (relatively) recently that Roy Harper's 'Flat, Baroque and Berserk' was probably a typically wacky/flippant riposte to Davy Graham's 'Folk, Blues and Beyond'.

Along the same lines, but (perhaps) more obviously there is Arthur Blythe's 'Lenox Avenue Breakdown' and Tim Berne's 'Fulton Street Maul' - both of these guys are alto sax players and both albums were released on Columbia (& both excellent IMHO).

My apologies to any folks out there to whom this news is staler than last week's loaf. I'd be more than interested to hear confirmation (or otherwise) of these hypotheses from anyone with sources to which I'm not yet privy.

And, you know, any suggestions in a similar vein...

Ciao

Herb Alpert : Whipped Cream & Other Delights
Soul Asylum : Clam Dip & Other Delights

Even down to the cover parady, Soul Asylum went on to get a contract on A&M ! Wonder what Herb thought.

There are a number of obscure albums out there titled Electric Babyland (and a couple of bands, too).

Then there's at least one titled Sweetheart of the Radio.

Singer/songwriter Iain Matthews (alone and with Plainsong) has a couple album titles along these lines:

Nights In Manhattan

and

Dark Side of the Room

Didn't Nick Lowe release "Bowi" after Bowie released "Low" ?

If he didn't, he bloody well should have.

And no mistake.
